Clinical Psychologist

My journey as a Psychologist started rather late in my life, in 2007.  I worked in Psychiatric units in Durban, a government hospital in Eshowe, and later a private practice in Mtunzini, KwaZulu Natal, South Africa.

I am trained in various modalities and more specific in psychodynamics, schema therapy, mindfulness, hypnotherapy and the lesser known ecotherapy and transactional analysis.

I work with individuals, adults, children adolescents, couples and families and have experience in mood disorders, substance abuse, personality disorders, sexual abuse, anxiety and psychorehabilitation.

I am a member of:

Health Professions Council of South Africa – HPCSA (PS0111120)
Board of Health Care Funders – BHF (0422878)
Psychological Association of South Africa – PsySSA
– South African Society for Clinical Psychologists
– Sexuality & Gender Division
South African Sexual Health Association – SASHA
African Society for Sexual Medicine – ASSM

I have a small private practice and work with adults and children.  I have a special interest in mood disorders, anxiety, trauma, personality disorders & substance abuse.  Although I have an eclectic treatment style, I lean towards psychoanalysis and transactional analysis.

I am contracted in to medical aids, and a session is between 45 – 50 minutes long.
